Typhoon Due to Reach Hell Tomorrow.

According to the Japanese Meteorological Agency, a strong typhoon is headed straight for Hell Guitars’ headquarters. Usually typhoons rather skirt our area rather than hit us head on  so hopefully this will be the case this time. However the projection maps have pinpointed Hell Guitars’ new offices as the absolute center (or so I have imagined, perhaps for dramatic effect 😉 ).

There’s always a little extra excitement when these things blow in. We’ve only had some small damage once about 8 years ago but I must say that it was pretty impressive. Biggest concerns are probably that heavy rains flood the river next to our home but we have somewhere to go should that seem likely.

Guess I’ll have to bring in some plants from outside and secure other flyables in the morning. I’ll let you know how it goes!

oh, I hope there is no need to dig a bunker))))What about to develope a new model and name it a Big Tyhoon, for example.
and a slogan: When the Hell and the Typoon met each other this guitar was born )))))))

      Thanks guys.
My wife just stepped in and told me we are in a stage 2 flood warning (whatever that means). I’m going to go up to the river right now and see where it’s at…

  3. old nod says:

so… did you make it back from the river?

  4. Kevin says:

Whoa, hope all is well, be safe.

Yes old nod, made it back from the river. Thanks for checking (Kevin too).

My wife has a warning system app on her iphone and the flood warning got up to level 4 which must be pretty high because when I saw the river I figured about a 50% chance of evacuation. I drove along the river for awhile on my way to the hardware store. When I came back an hour later the river had risen a good 3 feet. Frightening to see how quickly it could rise. The typhoon itself veered away from us before landfall so the winds weren’t a problem for us. About 8 months ago we had to evacuate (which is a real pain with 3 birds and a dog) so I wasn’t looking forward to it. But all is ok now. At least until typhoon number 5 which is supposed to roll in on Sunday…

It’s just part of life over here. Our location is actually generally quite safe for typhoons. It’s the folks in Okinawa and SW Japan who really get it the worst. But with the river next door we have to keep an eye on it when we have heavy sustained rains. Right now is “tsuyu” which is our rainy season.

I am very glad that things are okay now))) I have worried about this situation but prefer to keep quiet and do not escalate the situation and do not to pronounce a bad thoughts. Maybe I’m a little superstitious, but… =)))

  5. old nod says:

    good deal…..

    now get back to work..!

    : )

  6. Kevin says:

Very happy all is well. Extreame weather is something I have no experience with so it sounds pretty scary.

By the way Nick, I like your idea, Hell needs a typhoon something (guitar, pick guard, pupcap design, something).

Geeze, even during events like this we’re still thinking of guitars! Something’s wrong with us!
